The problem
Someone asks your price. Simple question. So why does the reply take 20 minutes of rewriting, softening and second-guessing? Today you save your pricing rules once, and from then on you type QUOTE and a name.
What you need
- The Project from "Your Claude Project in 8 minutes"
- Your offers with prices, payment plan and booking link
- Your rule for "money's tight"
- 10 minutes. Connecting your email is optional; you can paste the message instead.
What's new
- Sep 15, 2026 On paid plans, the Claude for Small Business plugin can turn a voice memo into a proposal priced from your past jobs. This guide's QUOTE shortcut still works on the free plan. (Anthropic)
Steps
- Open your Project and click Set project instructions.
- At the bottom, add a line that says MY SHORTCUTS, then paste the prompt below and fill in the brackets.
- Click Save instructions.
- Open a new chat inside the Project and type QUOTE plus the name of someone who asked your price (or paste their message under it).
- Read the draft, fix anything, and send it yourself.
The prompt
When I type QUOTE and a name:
- Search my email for that person's latest message and tell me in one line what they asked. If you can't find it or I paste the message, use what I pasted.
- Write the pricing reply with these details, which always go in: [YOUR OFFERS WITH PRICES], [PAYMENT PLAN], booking link: [YOUR LINK].
- Use one of their words so it's clear I read it.
- If they say money's tight: [YOUR RULE].
- Short. No apologies. One clear ask at the end.
- Show me the draft. Don't send it.What it looks like filled in

Claude first answers: "Their Tuesday email: they want the package price for two partners. I don't have whether you charge per person or per business. Which is it?" She says per business, and the draft comes back with the $600 package, the 2 × $300 plan and her booking link, in four short lines.
Notice what happened: when Claude didn't know something, it asked instead of guessing. That's the rule from your Project doing its job.
Takeaway
Your prices don't change, so the email shouldn't take 20 minutes. Write the rules once.
What's your money's-tight rule? Payment plan, smaller offer, or neither?
